Warren Schatz s-a născut la 3 noiembrie 1945 în cartierul Brooklyn din New York. Încă de la vîrsta de 15 ani a fost unul dintre cei mai apreciați maeștri de sunet din New York. in același timp a început sa compună și să interpreteze piese de muzica ușoară, devenind cunoscut atît sub numele său propriu, cit și sub diferite pseudonime, sau în cadrul diferitelor formații : Ritchie Dean, The Warmest Spring, The Petrified Forest, The Whispers. Muzica și înregistrările muzicale constituie toată viața sa. Cîntecele pe care le scrie tratează în general despre propriile sale sentimente și experiențe. Multe dintre ele vorbesc despre dragoste, dragostea pentru o femeie, dragostea pentru oameni.

Primul său disc LP a fost editat în S.U.A. de către firma Columbia (C.B.S.). Ulterior, discurile sale au apărut sub marca firmei „Trilogy Records”, condusă de Warren Schatz și care se ocupă deopotrivă de difuzarea pe calea discului a celor mai valoroase creații ale muzicii culte contemporane.
Activitatea de interpret a lui Warren Schatz este foarte intensă, el călătorind 4—6 luni pe an, cîntînd pretutindeni în lume. în ultimii ani a reprezentat S.U.A. la Festivalurile Internaționale de la Tokio și Sopot, abținînd la acesta din urmă Premiul Special al Presei.

Warren Schatz spends 4 to 6 months a year travelling and performing at festivals such as the first Tokyo Popular Song Festival and the 12th International Song Festival at Sopot, Poland, where he won the Journalists’ Prize.
